This afternoon, Thursday, 16 Ramadan 1447 AH, corresponding to March 5, 2026, the activities of the specialized training course on Communication and Effective Interaction Skills concluded. The course targeted the administrative staff of the university and its university hospital and was implemented by the Center for Development and Quality Assurance over three consecutive days, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matri, Rector of the University and General Director of the Hospital. The course aimed to enhance employees’ institutional communication skills, improve administrative performance efficiency, and develop staff members’ abilities to manage dialogue and professional communication within the workplace. This contributes to the development of administrative work and the improvement of the quality of services provided by both institutions.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, the Rector of the University and General Director of the Hospital emphasized that developing communication and interaction skills is one of the fundamental pillars for the success of institutional work. He noted that the modern work environment requires a high level of coordination and understanding among various departments and units to ensure smooth workflow and achieve institutional goals efficiently. He explained that this course was organized to serve both university and hospital employees, reflecting the leadership’s belief in the importance of investing in the development of human capacities. He also expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills gained during the course would be reflected in daily professional practice within the work environment, thereby strengthening team spirit and improving institutional performance quality. He further pointed out that training and qualification programs represent an important part of the vision of the university and the hospital to build qualified administrative cadres who possess effective communication skills and are capable of dealing professionally and respectfully with various segments of society, including students, patients, and visitors.
During the three days of the course, the trainers—Dr. Mujeeb Al-Saeedi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, and Ms. Fulla Al-Akhshar, Assistant General Director for Quality Affairs—presented several important topics in the field of institutional communication. These included the concept of communication and its importance in the workplace, the elements of the communication process, patterns and methods of effective communication, listening skills and positive interaction, as well as managing dialogue and addressing communication barriers within institutions.
The course also addressed several professional protocols and workplace etiquette, in addition to medical and office documentation and the importance of adhering to them, which enhances the institution’s image and promotes a culture of professional and respectful interaction among employees and with service beneficiaries. Moreover, the course included a number of practical applications and interactive activities aimed at training participants to employ communication skills in various professional situations, strengthening their teamwork abilities, and improving communication mechanisms between departments and units, which positively reflects on the quality of institutional performance.
At the conclusion of the course, emphasis was placed on the importance of benefiting from its outcomes and applying the acquired knowledge and skills in practical work, thereby enhancing the culture of effective communication and advancing the level of administrative performance at the university and Jiblah University Hospital.
