Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences, officially launched the new academic year 2026/2027, corresponding to 1448 AH, on Saturday morning, September 5, 2026, marking the commencement of classes across the university’s various faculties. The launch was attended by Professor Ahmed Ali Al-Hazmi, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Mohammed Al-Hetar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs; along with a number of faculties’ deans and teaching staff.
Following the launch, the university rector and his two deputies conducted a field tour of several faculties, classrooms, and laboratories to review the progress of the educational process on its first day, the level of regular attendance, and the faculties’ readiness to receive students. They also met with a number of teaching staff and students and listened to briefings from the deans of faculties on the implementation of academic plans and the completion of academic and technical preparations.
In his remarks on the occasion, Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari congratulated teaching staff, administrative staff, and students on the beginning of the new academic year, wishing them a successful and distinguished year. He emphasized that the university had completed all the necessary academic, administrative, and technical preparations to ensure a successful start to classes in accordance with the approved academic calendar. Al-Matari noted that the university continues to implement its development plans in various academic and research fields, as well as completing infrastructure projects and upgrading laboratories and classrooms. These efforts aim to provide an integrated educational environment that contributes to improve the quality of medical education outcomes and strengthening the university’s position as an academic institution specializing in medical and health sciences.
For his part, Professor Ahmed Ali Al-Hazmi, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, confirmed that the university had been keen to complete all academic requirements before the start of classes, including preparing class schedules, assigning teaching staff, and equipping classrooms and laboratories. These measures are intended to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process from the first day and enhance the quality of academic performance.
In turn, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hetar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, explained that the Deanship of Student Affairs had completed arrangements to receive newly admitted students and provide them with the necessary assistance and facilities. The deanship is also following up on the regularity of classes, emphasizing the university’s commitment to provide a stimulating university environment that supports students’ academic excellence and creativity.
During the tour, the university rector reviewed the level of discipline in classrooms and praised the commitment of teaching staff and students. He called for intensified efforts throughout the new academic year in order to achieve the university’s mission of preparing highly qualified medical and health professionals equipped with scientific knowledge and professional skills and capable of meeting the needs of society and the healthcare sector. The launch of the new academic year reflects the commitment of the leadership of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences to directly and continuously monitor the educational process and ensure the readiness of the various faculties and departments. This is intended to ensure a strong start to the new academic year, during which all members of the university community will continue their journey of excellence and success in medical education, scientific research, and community service.
