Speech by the dean of the center

In confirmation of the vital role played by the Development and Quality Assurance Center in supporting and enhancing the university’s ability to meet quality assurance standards, which represents a process of continuous monitoring of the university’s inputs, processes, and outputs and the level of quality it has achieved or is working to achieve, approaching the national, Arab, or international levels, all the way to the stage of academic accreditation.

The center has been established since the first day of the issuance of the decision to establish it, which coincided with the establishment of the university in the year 2019 AD, with the support, support and endorsement of the university’s leadership, represented by its president, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari, who gave the center and continues to give the center his greatest attention and care and providing its requirements. Everyone began and joined in discussion circles about the center’s internal regulations. Until the University President’s Decision No. (6) of 2020 was issued regarding the issuance of regulations for the center and the issuance of a decision appointing the heads of the executive units of the center and the heads of the quality units in the university’s faculties and also in the university hospital. Also, the University President’s Decision No. (13) of 2020 was issued regarding the formation of the Development and Quality Assurance Council.

During this short period, the center was able to accomplish many tasks related to quality assurance and to enable educational programs to obtain academic accreditation by creating mechanisms and procedures to be applied at the correct and appropriate time to ensure the desired quality and achieve academic standards, which are defined as (specific standards approved by the institution or It is derived from external national or international references and includes the minimum knowledge and skills that graduates are supposed to acquire from the program and fulfills the mission of the scientific institution. We are in Yemen, and thanks be to Allah, the drafting of the standards document for medical and health faculty programs has been completed and it has become accessible to everyone in a unified manner to reach the stage of academic accreditation, which represents a national dimension. It is the main entrance to achieving quality university education and the effective means of achieving specific standards and is based on the inevitability of change and development to support the positives.
