As part of the university’s commitment to strengthening students’ practical and research skills, several university halls witnessed this morning, Monday, 18 Shawwal 1447 AH, corresponding to April 6, 2026, the organization of three specialized scientific seminars for students from a number of medical faculties. These seminars reflected an advanced level of academic and professional preparation.

At the Faculty of Pharmacy, second batch students (third level) presented the sixth scientific seminar titled “Introduction to Pharmacology.” The seminar covered three main topics: the journey of a drug within the human body (Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics), and drugs affecting the sympathetic nervous system (Adrenergic Drugs), and drugs affecting the parasympathetic nervous system (Cholinergic Drugs), with the participation of four student groups. The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Abdulhakim Mohammed Al-Sabban, and the Dean of Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Mujeeb Ali Al-Saidi, along with several faculty members. The Dean praised the students’ advanced level, especially in presentation style and the logical flow of information compared to previous seminars. Dr. Mujeeb Al-Saeedi also highlighted the students’ excellence in delivery skills, body language, and their professional use of communication skills. Meanwhile, Dr. Majed Al-Mazjaji expressed great admiration for the students’ level, describing them as one of the best cohorts he has taught throughout his academic career.

At the Faculty of Medicine, sixth batch students (General Medicine and Surgery) presented a scientific seminar titled “Iron Deficiency Anemia.” The seminar covered a comprehensive range of topics, starting with an introduction and iron regulation in the body (Iron Homeostasis), followed by risk factors, types, symptoms, and concluding with diagnosis, complications, treatment methods, and prevention. The seminar stood out for its excellent organization and rich scientific content, reflecting a high level of dedication and diligence among the students. It was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members, who enriched the scientific discussion and enhanced the seminar’s academic value.

At the Faculty of Laboratory Medicine, fifth batch students (third level) presented their seminar titled “Transfusion Reactions.” They discussed reactions resulting from blood transfusions, highlighting potential risks and complications, as well as precise laboratory diagnostic mechanisms to minimize them. The seminar featured presentations by four student groups, characterized by depth and accuracy. The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Hazmi, along with several faculty members, who praised the students’ scientific level and emphasized the importance of such seminars in developing analytical and diagnostic skills, as well as enhancing the practical understanding of laboratory concepts.

These concurrent scientific activities reaffirm the university’s commitment to promoting a culture of active learning and strengthening students’ abilities in research, analysis, and scientific presentation. This contributes to preparing scientifically and practically qualified healthcare professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid developments across various medical fields.
