The university council held its second regular meeting for the academic year 2025/2026 on Monday morning, February 16, 2026, chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari, rector of the university. The meeting discussed a number of academic and administrative issues listed on its agenda for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minutes of the previous session were reviewed and approved. The council then discussed the faculties’ results for the first semester, evaluating the level of academic performance and achieved outcomes, in a way that contributes to enhancing the quality of the educational process and improving its standards. The council also emphasized the importance of adhering to official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan in accordance with the applicable regulations, ensuring the continued efficiency of academic and administrative work.
The meeting further discussed updating the university’s organizational structure in line with institutional development requirements and enhancing administrative performance efficiency. In addition, the status of the faculties was reviewed in light of programmatic and academic accreditation requirements, with emphasis on completing the necessary requirements in this regard. The council also addressed the university rector’s award for institutional excellence, scientific research, digital transformation, and innovation, considering it one of the motivating tools to encourage creativity and positive competition among faculties and various sectors.
Moreover, the council reviewed the operational plan of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance and the self-evaluation plan. It also discussed the mechanism for training and forming strategic plan teams, as well as forming a committee to prepare the bylaws of Jiblah University Scientific Journal. In a related context, the council discussed several emerging issues, including accelerating progress in certain files, addressing a number of student-related matters, and discussing the evaluation mechanism for some courses (theoretical and practical).
At the conclusion of the meeting, the rector of the university affirmed the university leadership’s commitment to strengthening institutional work and integrating efforts among various academic and administrative units, in a manner that contributes to achieving the university’s goals and improving the level of education and services provided to students and the community.
