The final clinical examination for the Obstetrics and Gynecology course was officially launched on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, at the Mother and Child Building of Jiblah University Hospital for the first batch of students in the Department of General Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences. The examination was conducted with the participation of distinguished consultants and external examiners from several Yemeni universities and medical and academic institutions, marking the final stage of clinical assessment prior to graduation. This examination represents the concluding phase of the series of final clinical examinations undertaken by the first batch across the major clinical disciplines, in fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.
During the examinations, Professor Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of the University, accompanied by Professor Ali Al-Tariq, Rector of Al-Dhalea University, paid an inspection visit to observe the examination process. They reviewed the implementation of the clinical assessment and received a briefing from the Faculty of Medicine and the examination committees on the organizational and academic procedures, as well as the readiness of the departments and committees to ensure that the examinations were conducted in accordance with approved standards.
Professor Al-Matari affirmed that the first batch’s arrival at the final stage of clinical assessment reflects the success of the Faculty of Medicine’s academic program and demonstrates the university’s commitment to establishing an integrated medical education system that combines sound academic instruction with comprehensive clinical training at the university hospital. He further noted that the university has adopted best practices in clinical assessment by engaging external examiners and consultants from various universities and academic institutions, thereby enhancing the quality, transparency, and objectivity of the evaluation while ensuring accurate assessment of students’ scientific knowledge and clinical competencies in line with contemporary medical education standards.
For his part, Dr. Baheej Al-Moreesy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, explained that the Obstetrics and Gynecology examination represents the final clinical assessment for the first batch after students had successfully completed examinations in all other clinical specialties. He noted that the faculty had made comprehensive academic, technical, and organizational preparations for this stage in close coordination with the university hospital and the examination committees. He added that the examination was designed to assess students’ clinical and diagnostic skills, medical decision-making abilities, and competence in managing real-life clinical cases, ensuring that graduates are fully prepared to begin their internship year and practice medicine with professionalism and responsibility.
These examinations mark the culmination of a six-year academic journey and reaffirm the university’s commitment to graduating highly qualified physicians equipped with solid scientific knowledge, advanced clinical skills, and strong professional ethics, thereby contributing competent healthcare professionals capable of providing high-quality medical care and serving the community.
