The Department of Pediatrics at Jiblah University Hospital today concluded the final clinical examinations for the Pediatrics course for students of the first batch of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at the Faculty of Medicine. These examinations marked the culmination of a series of specialty clinical assessments conducted over several days across various clinical departments, with the participation of a distinguished panel of consultants and external examiners from Yemeni universities and academic and medical institutions.

The completion of these examinations represents a significant academic milestone in the university’s journey, as it brings the Faculty of Medicine’s first MBBS batch one step closer to fulfilling the requirements for graduation after years of intensive academic study and clinical training at the university hospital and the university’s affiliated teaching facilities. Throughout the examinations, students underwent comprehensive assessment of their clinical competencies, diagnostic abilities, and professional patient-management skills in Pediatrics. The examinations were conducted in accordance with established academic procedures and standards designed to evaluate practical competencies and graduates’ readiness for professional medical practice.

On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hetar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, conveyed the greetings of Professor Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of the University. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the examiners, particularly those from outside the governorate, for their valuable contribution to assessing the students’ clinical competencies. In addition, he extended his gratitude to the Faculty of Medicine’s academic staff, emphasizing that the first graduating batch is the product of their dedication and the knowledge they have imparted to the students throughout their years of study. He further noted that these examinations mark the successful completion of a crucial stage in the academic journey of the faculty’s first MBBS batch, signaling their imminent transition into professional medical practice. This achievement reflects Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences’ vision of preparing highly qualified physicians capable of serving the community and contributing to the advancement of the healthcare sector.

In a statement delivered on the occasion, Dr. Baheej Al-Moreesy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, affirmed that the successful completion of the final clinical examinations for the faculty’s first batch constitutes a remarkable academic achievement, reflecting the careful planning and effective organization that have characterized the educational process since the faculty’s establishment. He noted that the examinations were conducted according to rigorous scientific standards under the direct supervision of faculty members and external examiners. He added that the faculty was committed to ensuring a comprehensive assessment of all essential clinical competencies required of future physicians, thereby guaranteeing the graduation of doctors equipped with both the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to practice medicine competently and responsibly.

For their part, several external examiners expressed their satisfaction with the high level of organization and preparation demonstrated throughout the examinations. They also commended the students’ academic and clinical performance, highlighting the promising competencies they displayed, which reflect the quality of the academic education and practical clinical training they have received over the course of their studies.

With the conclusion of today’s examinations, students of the first MBBS batch have successfully completed the final clinical examinations in all major medical disciplines. The only remaining requirement is the final clinical examination in Obstetrics and Gynecology, after which they will have fulfilled all graduation requirements and become eligible to receive the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree as the first graduating class from the Faculty of Medicine at the university.
