Today, 3 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to May 20, 2026, the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Center held its meeting at Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences under the chairmanship of Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, to discuss the center’s performance progress between the two board sessions, as well as its future orientations and plans. The meeting, attended by Dr. Ibraheem Luqman, board members from public university rectors, representatives of private universities, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Union, reviewed the center’s activities and achievements report covering the period from November 2025 to May 2026.

The meeting also listened to a report presented by the Executive Director of the center, Dr. Fouad Abdu Al-Razzaq, which included the achievements, activities, and events implemented during the past period, along with the center’s strategic orientations and plans. The report also addressed the ongoing modernization and development of the center’s infrastructure, in addition to major administrative, financial, training, and capacity-building activities aimed at keeping pace with technological advancements.

Dr. Abdu Al-Razzaq praised the leadership of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences for its distinguished hospitality and excellent organization, and expressed appreciation to all board members for their interest, engagement, and attendance at the meeting, which coincides with the blessed first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, the 36th anniversary of Yemeni unification, and the 19th anniversary of the Mukalla Declaration of 2007, under which the Information Technology Center was established. He emphasized that the meeting, attended by prominent academic leaders, board members, and university rectors, reflects a distinguished image of serious work, high professionalism, and commitment to the development and sustainability of the educational process and its success across all educational sectors and academic programs.

Participants also reviewed the technical report presented by Assistant Director of the center, Dr. Mousa Ghurab, regarding software and technical achievements. The report highlighted the activities and accomplishments carried out during the period, the level of implementation of decisions from the previous board meeting, ongoing efforts to enhance and develop the center’s performance, and the continued maintenance and operation of university systems.

During the meeting, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais praised the efforts of the leadership and staff of the Information Technology Center in continuously developing and improving automation and digital transformation projects within educational institutions. He affirmed the strong support and attention of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, toward ensuring the success and sustainability of the center in fulfilling its assigned responsibilities effectively. Dr. Al-Duais stressed that the Information Technology Center is no longer merely a provider of technical support services, but has become the primary driver of the digital transformation strategy within educational institutions. He noted that the meeting establishes a clear roadmap toward smart management and overcoming technical obstacles to ensure the continuity and quality of education in accordance with the latest international standards despite current challenges.

For his part, Dr. Ibraheem Luqman stated that the meeting carries exceptional importance in terms of both timing and outcomes, as it represents an advanced step toward governance of technical operations and the unification of efforts to build an integrated and intelligent educational system. Meanwhile, the Rector of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences, Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari, expressed pride and honor in hosting the current board session within the historic city of Jiblah and at a university steadily moving toward excellence and keeping pace with quality standards and academic development requirements. Board members also praised the center’s role in significantly reducing manifestations of corruption in student admissions and results processing, as well as the achievements that have positively impacted university operations and academic, research, and financial fields.

They emphasized the importance of supporting and developing the center as a specialized entity that ensures the continuation of strict digital oversight, data protection, and governance procedures, noting that it has become a safety valve for universities and one of the most important pillars in combating corruption through the systems and programs it has developed. The meeting concluded with honoring Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari with the center’s shield in recognition of the university’s hosting of the current board session. The event also witnessed the signing of a twinning agreement between Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences and Al Mahweet University.
