The Faculty of Nursing at the university, together with its university hospital, organized a celebratory event on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in commemoration of International Nurses Day. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Sadeq Al-Mohni, Vice Rector of the University for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies; Dr. Mohammed Al-Hetar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs; Mr. Nabeel Abdulkareem, General Secretary of the university; along with a number of academic and administrative leaders, nursing staff, and students from the health faculties.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Sadeq Al-Mohni delivered a speech on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of the University and General Director of the university hospital. At the beginning of his speech, he conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the university leadership to all nursing personnel, praising the great humanitarian and professional role of nursing as one of the fundamental pillars of the healthcare system. Al-Mohni emphasized that the university places significant importance on nursing programs through the continuous development of educational and training processes and by linking them to practical and clinical aspects. This, he noted, contributes to preparing qualified professionals capable of providing high-quality healthcare services in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

In the same context, Dr. Ali Al-Mufti, General Director of Medical Services and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, delivered a speech stressing the importance of enhancing the quality of health education and providing continuous training for nursing staff, considering these essential elements in improving healthcare services and patient care. He also commended the role played by the university and its university hospital in this regard.

Mr. Essam Musleh Nasser Al-Mukarmani, Member of the Administrative Board of the Medical Technical Professions Syndicate in Ibb Governorate and Financial Officer of the Syndicate Branch, expressed the syndicate’s appreciation for the role of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences in qualifying healthcare and nursing professionals. He praised the academic and training standards provided by the university to its students, which contribute to supplying the healthcare sector with competent and qualified professionals capable of serving the community efficiently and effectively.

Ms. Fullah Al-Akhshar, Assistant of the General Director for Quality Affairs, addressed the importance of establishing a culture of quality in nursing practice. She affirmed that advancing the nursing profession requires the integration of scientific competence, professional commitment, and humanitarian values, in addition to ongoing training and qualification that positively reflect on the quality of healthcare services.

For her part, Ms. Najla Yahya Ali, Head of the Nursing Department, noted that celebrating International Nurses Day represents an opportunity to appreciate the tremendous efforts made by professionals in this noble humanitarian field. She emphasized that nursing is not merely a profession, but rather a noble humanitarian mission based on compassion, dedication, and responsibility toward patients and society. She also reviewed the department’s efforts to develop students’ academic and practical skills in line with modern advancements in health sciences. The event also featured several expressive segments that reflected the status of the nursing profession and its vital role in serving patients and the community, amid widespread appreciation for the efforts exerted by nursing staff under various circumstances.
