As part of the cultural activities program for the current academic year 1447 AH (2026/2027), a Recitation and Voice-Over Competition was held today, Thursday, 9 Ramadan 1447 AH, corresponding to February 27, 2026, at Al-Razi Hall. The event marked the second competition in the cultural activities calendar and witnessed a large student attendance. The competition featured the participation of 40 male and female students from various faculties of Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences. The contestants presented diverse performances that reflected their vocal skills, language accuracy, stage presence, and ability to influence and persuade the audience. Their performances were evaluated by a specialized judging panel based on precise assessment criteria.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of the University, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Hettar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of cultural activities in shaping the university student’s personality, enhancing self-confidence, and developing communication and public speaking skills, which are essential in both academic and professional life.
The University Rector highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing creative platforms that enable students to showcase their talents in various fields. He affirmed that such competitions contribute to discovering promising talents and supporting them toward professional paths that serve society. For his part, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs noted that the diversity of participants from different faculties reflects the growing interest in extracurricular activities and demonstrates students’ awareness of the importance of developing their skills alongside their academic achievement.
In turn, Mr. Basheer Al-Baadani, General Director of Public Relations and Media and Supervisor of Cultural Activities, stressed that such events help build a conscious and influential student discourse and enhance the university’s cultural and media presence. He praised the high level of participants and the organization, which reflected a spirit of teamwork among the concerned departments. Additionally, Mr. Majed Al-Barousha, Director of Student Activities, delivered a speech explaining that the Recitation and Voice-Over Competition is part of a series of competitions that include poetry, short story writing, drawing, Arabic calligraphy, and chanting, aiming to create a comprehensive cultural movement within the university.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees expressed their appreciation for the distinguished level demonstrated by the contestants, affirming that the competition provided a genuine opportunity to discover promising student talents in recitation and vocal performance. The remaining cultural competitions will continue according to the approved program in the coming period.
