The Faculty of Medicine successfully concluded the final clinical examinations for the first batch of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students on Thursday, 9 July 2026. The final assessment was conducted in the Obstetrics and Gynecology course at the Maternity Building of Jiblah University Hospital, with the participation of a distinguished panel of consultants and external examiners representing several universities and medical institutions from both Ibb Governorate and other regions. The completion of this course marks a significant academic milestone in the university’s history, as the first batch has now fulfilled all final examination requirements for the award of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, following years of intensive academic study and clinical training at the university hospital.
The examination was conducted in accordance with recognized academic and professional standards designed to assess students’ clinical competencies and practical skills in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Through a series of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations, students were evaluated on clinical diagnosis, patient management, and medical decision-making, in line with contemporary standards of medical education. At the conclusion of the examinations, Prof. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Matari, Rector of the University, accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Al-Hetar, Vice Rector for Student Affairs; Prof. Sadeq Al-Mohani, Advisor to the University Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Laboratory Medicine; and Dr. Baheej Al-Moreesy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, honored the participating examiners in recognition of their valuable academic contributions and their role in ensuring the success of the assessment process and promoting quality, fairness, and transparency in clinical examinations.
During the ceremony, the university rector expressed his sincere appreciation to the external examiners from various universities and medical institutions, both within and outside Ibb Governorate, for their cooperation and active participation in evaluating the first batch of students. He emphasized that engaging external academic experts reflects the university’s commitment to implementing best practices in medical education and ensuring objective assessment in accordance with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.
For their part, several external examiners commended the scientific knowledge and clinical competence demonstrated by the first batch throughout the examinations. They praised the students’ professionalism, clinical performance, and ability to manage patient cases, and also expressed their appreciation for the excellent organization and preparation of the examinations, which reflected the dedicated efforts of the university, the Faculty of Medicine, and Jiblah University Hospital. The successful completion of the final clinical examinations by the first batch represents a major academic achievement for Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences. It highlights the success of the university’s medical program in preparing graduates with strong scientific knowledge, clinical competence, and professional ethics, enabling them to progress to their internship year and ultimately contribute as qualified physicians serving the healthcare sector and the wider community.
