Thursday, May 7, 2026 — As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the health and education sectors, Mr. Najeeb Al-Kamel, General Director of the Health and Environment Office in Ibb Governorate, conducted an inspection visit to the university’s ongoing construction projects. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari, Rector of the University, along with Mr. Hameed Al-Mutawakel, General Director of Al-Sabrah District.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed the progress of several construction projects and the current stages of implementation. They also received a detailed briefing from the university leadership regarding the components of the new facilities and the academic and service amenities they will include, all of which are expected to enhance the university’s educational and training environment. The visit also included an inspection of the Emergency Department project currently under construction at Jiblah University Hospital. The delegation was introduced to the nature of the project and the emergency and medical services it is expected to provide, in addition to its anticipated role in improving the hospital’s preparedness and enhancing response times for emergency and critical cases.
The university rector explained that these projects are part of the university’s strategic plan to expand its infrastructure and develop academic and healthcare services in line with community needs, contributing to the provision of a modern educational and medical environment that serves both students and patients alike. He further noted that the university continues to implement qualitative development projects aimed at improving the quality of medical and applied education, while strengthening the capabilities of the university hospital to deliver more efficient healthcare services.
For his part, the General Director of the Health Office in Ibb Governorate praised the level of progress achieved in the ongoing projects, emphasizing the important role played by the university and its teaching hospital in serving the healthcare sector and preparing medical professionals. He also commended the efforts being made to implement these facilities according to a modern developmental vision. He affirmed that the Emergency Department project will represent a significant addition to healthcare services in the governorate due to the capabilities it will provide in improving emergency care and reducing pressure on emergency units.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hameed Al-Mutawakel expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the university leadership in implementing development projects that support both the educational process and the healthcare sector. He stressed the importance of continuing such projects because of their direct impact on community service and improving the level of services provided to citizens. This visit comes as part of a series of field visits aimed at monitoring the progress of health and educational projects and strengthening coordination between academic institutions and official authorities in support of development and community service.
